|---|---|---|
| Varna | 1 | Spiritual and work-level compatibility |
| Vashya | 2 | Balance of mutual influence |
| Tara | 3 | Health, longevity and fortune |
| Yoni | 4 | Physical and instinctive compatibility |

| Bhakoot | 7 | Family prosperity and stability |
| Nadi | 8 | Health and progeny — the heaviest weight |
How many gunas are enough?
- Below 18 — traditionally not advised without an expert reading.
- 18–24 — acceptable match.
- 25–32 — good match.
- Above 32 — excellent match.
Note: Nadi and Bhakoot dosha are considered cancelled (dosha parihara) in certain chart conditions. A low score is therefore worth checking with a qualified astrologer rather than treating as final.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need for kundali matching?
This calculator needs the birth nakshatra and Moon sign of both people. If you do not know the nakshatra, it can be derived from date, time and place of birth using a panchang.
Should a match below 18 gunas be rejected?
Tradition treats below 18 as a weak match, but it is not a verdict. Dosha cancellation, Mangal Dosha and both dasha periods need to be read by a qualified astrologer before concluding.
Does this include a Mangal Dosha check?
No. This is the ashtakoota guna milan only. Mangal Dosha requires looking at the house position of Mars in the birth chart.
Is it free, and is my data stored?
It is completely free, and nothing is sent to a server — the whole calculation runs in your browser.
